Justin Veneklase just recently moved to Grand Rapids and joined the GRNSA in January 2014. He is excited to start working with the swimmers and have an impact on their swimming careers.
Justin grew up in the Grand Rapids area and attended Catholic Central High School where he was a three year swimmer, starting his swimming career his sophomore year. After attending CCHS Justin walked on to Oakland University’s swim team and studied Business Management and Marketing while working on his swimming career. During his senior year Justin had a breakout season and won the 200 freestyle at the Summit League Conference Championships and was on the 200, 400, and 800 free relays that set Oakland University records.
After and during his career at OU Justin coached swimmers from the ages of 5 – 65 years old. He coached two High School teams in the Rochester Hills area. He also helped start the USA program at Life Time Fitness in Rochester Hills. Starting with around 12 swimmers and growing it to over 85 swimmers. Over the past year he also ran the Masters programs at Life Time and took them to the National Championship in Indianapolis and made a big contribution to the National Champion Michigan Masters team.
